Antonio Lax Zapata es un violador. La Audiencia Provincial de Murcia ha condenado a siete años y nueve meses de prisión al sacerdote Antonio Lax Zapata por abusar sexualmente de forma continuada de un niño de unos 13 años entre 2014 y 2015, cuando dirigía la parroquia de San Juan Bautista de Yecla. El condenado, también capellán del hospital Virgen del Castillo de la misma localidad, realizó tocamientos, besos y felaciones al menor, aprovechando la estrecha relación que mantenía con su familia. Los abusos, recoge la sentencia, tuvieron lugar en torno a los años 2014 y 2015, cuando el joven, que ahora tiene 20 años, tenía entre 12 y 13 años. El sacerdote condenado conoció al niño cuando ejercía como vice párroco en la iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol, en el municipio de San Pedro del Pinatar, a la que llegó en 2006, y entabló una relación “prácticamente familiar” con la familia del afectado “hasta el punto de tener las llaves del domicilio donde residía el menor, siendo habitual que pernoctara con frecuencia en dicho domicilio”. En 2013, el cura fue trasladado a la parroquia de San Juan Bautista de Yecla, pero su relación con la familia continuó, y era frecuente que el chico lo visitara y pernoctara en su casa en esa localidad. El presbítero, original del pueblo murciano de Monteagudo, estudió en un seminario de Medellín (Colombia) y fue párroco, hasta 2006, en la iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad en la localidad colombiana de Turbo (Antioquia). En dicha publicación se especificaba que el ahora acusado fue extorsionado por dos hombres. Lax regresó en 2006 a Murcia, donde desempeñó el cargo de vicario parroquial de las iglesias de San Pedro Apóstol (San Pedro del Pinatar) y Nuestra Señora del Rosario de (El Mirador). Fue cesado en 2013 y pasó a ser párroco en San Juan Bautista y en el hospital Virgen del Castillo en Yecla.

La sección 5 de la Audiencia Provincial de Murcia (con sede en Cartagena) ha condenado a A.L.Z., sacerdote primero en San Pedro del Pinatar y luego en Yecla, a penas que suman nueve años de prisión por dos delitos de abuso sexual a menores, además de la medida de libertad vigilada durante siete años, una vez cumplida la pena privativa de libertad y la obligación de indemnizar a los dos menores con 8.200 euros.

En concreto, se le considera autor de un delito de abuso sexual a un menor de 13 años por agarrar el pene a un niño cuando este jugaba con una videoconsola en su domicilio, y de un delito continuado de abuso sexual a un menor de 16 años por tocar los genitales de un chico en varias ocasiones, “para satisfacer su apetito sexual” y aprovechando, en ambos casos “su condición sacerdotal y de amistad con ellos y su familia”. La sentencia declara probado que el acusado, en ejercicio de su función sacerdotal en la primera parroquia, entabló amistad con varias familias, se ganó la confianza de los citados y otros menores, a quienes llevaba en su vehículo a pescar o a la playa, les invitaba a helados y hablaba con ellos con frecuencia, prodigándose en besos y abrazos. Añade además que, “a menudo y en grupo mantenía con ellos conversaciones de contenido sexual, en las que les preguntaba por el tamaño del pene, o la frecuencia con que se masturbaban”. Los magistrados alcanzan la convicción de que ocurrieron los hechos imputados por el Ministerio Fiscal sobre la base del testimonio de las víctimas, “tras valorarlo a través de los conocidos criterios jurisprudenciales de credibilidad, verosimilitud y persistencia” y el reconocimiento por parte del acusado de parte de los actos “aunque les niegue significado sexual”, además de “una visión en conjunto de lo ocurrido”.

En auto notificado el martes, la Sala acuerda el ingreso en prisión provisional del acusado, solicitado por el Ministerio Fiscal y la acusación particular, al entender que a la “gravedad de las penas aquí impuestas”, que superan los 9 años de prisión, se suman las impuestas por este mismo tribunal en sentencia de 3 de mayo de 2022, en la que se le condenó por otro delito de abuso sexual a la pena de siete años y nueve meses de prisión. “No cabiendo duda de que las nuevas condenas, cuya suma supera los 16 años, han incrementado notablemente el riesgo de fuga, dada la natural y humana inclinación que cabe atribuir a todo penado de que intentará evitar el cumplimiento de una pena prolongada de privación de libertad mediante su huida y ocultación”.
