Someone Else is an artistic work designed, developed and performatized by artist Abel Azcona in September 2014 in New York City. The work was designed for the Leslie Lohman Museum in New York's Soho and carried out in collaboration with the Grace Exhibition Space, located in Brooklyn, in the context of the Queer New York Art Biennial. During the years 2013 and 2014, the artist Abel Azcona carried out the work Empathy and Prostitution in cities such as Bogotá, Madrid and Houston, in which, as in “Someone Else,” he offered his naked body to the public in a symbolic monetary exchange. Between both cities, more than 300 people used Azcona's body. With this piece in memory, Azcona once again offers his body in an installation consisting of three beds. The big difference this time was the free offer, and the obligation to do it, in an event such as Queer New York, of great affluence. Dozens of people must have passed by artist Abel Azcona's bed at the opening. The inaugural piece urged the visitor or spectator to abuse the artist as an entrance to the art gallery. Between sexual intercourse and intimate encounter, the artist changed beds and cleaned himself for a new client, which turned the piece into a ritual of sex, cleaning and grooming. Azcona's body and skin looked red and tired throughout the process where he was located until the end of the event. The renowned publication Hyperallergic chose the project Someone else as one of the best artistic events of 2016 in New York.

Alguien Más, “Someone Else” en inglés, es una obra artística diseñada, desarrollada y performatizada por el artista Abel Azcona en septiembre de 2014 en la ciudad de Nueva York. La obra fue diseñada para el Museo Leslie Lohman en el Soho neoyorkino y realizada paralelamente en colaboración con el Grace Exhibition Space, situado en Brooklyn en el marco de la Queer New York Art Biennial. “Abel Azcona’s work breaks all the rules and throws conventions out the window. His eye contact and body language suggest questions about his life and his motivations. His work is understood in direct relation to his personal history of sexual abuse, his mother’s history of prostitution, and how he seeks to reinterpret her abuse as a way to cope. The most curious thing about his work, which is better known in Europe and South America, is that he continues to draw people to his fantasies of abuse as a survivor of it. Azcona is visible and breaks with security in the shadows.”
