After creating his most intimate and extreme performances, centered on the mother and biographical themes, Abel Azcona brings his work to India following a retrospective dedicated to the artist in his home country. Over several days, he will carry out various performative projects addressing abandonment and violence in local orphanages. His first performance at the Uddo River will be a washing ritual alongside two Indian spiritual mothers—strong women, fishermen, and river women—who will accompany and wash the artist before he begins the rest of his artistic journey in Goa. This piece speaks of maternal connection, new mothers, and bonds with the land and the place.
Abel Azcona tras realizar las performance más íntimas y extremas, en torno a la madre y la idea biográfica, en la retrospectiva dedicada al artista en su país de origen llega a la India. Durante varios días realizará varios proyectos performativos sobre el abandono y las violencias en Orfanatos locales. La primera obra de performance que realizará en el Río Uddo será un lavatorio junto a dos madres espirituales indias. Dos mujeres fuertes, pescadoras, mujeres del rio que acompañaran y lavaran al artista antes de empezar el resto de su viaje artístico en Goa.
