“I was twenty years old when I first got my hands on the full document in the High Court of Justice of Navarra. After a various months of arrangements, negatives and complicaions, a judge that advocated transparency and the right to information in origin searches photocopied the hundred and twenty eight pages for me, including tens of pages and facts that aren’t usually provided for a conventional origin search. Informatio about evaluations of foster and adoptive homes, transcriptions of calls made by acquaintances, neighbours and family members to social welfare and guardianship of minors. Documentation of resignation and various testimonies by different families. Plus evaluations, signatures, phone numbers and one last document that showed that the last paternity resignation could not be done even though two oportunities were given; one time because of drunkenness and the other one for non-attendance. Reading in those pages that I was a boy in a situation of abandonment, absolute loneliness and without vital joy leads me to make a regression to moments I remember and others that I had built. Since that day the full document accompanies me in my writing and when creating many works. These files are for me pages of life that disappeared and were hidden since my adoption, so going back to my origins, understanding them and internalizing them have made me who I am today.”
“Tenía veinte años cuando conseguí el documento completo en el tribunal Superior de Justicia de Navarra. Después de varios meses de gestiones, negativas y complicaciones, conseguí que un juez que defendía la transparencia y el derecho a saber en las búsquedas de orígenes me fotocopiara las ciento veintiocho páginas en su totalidad, incluyendo en el escrito decenas de páginas y datos que normalmente no se facilitan en un proceso de búsqueda de orígenes al uso. Información sobre evaluaciones a familias de acogida y adoptiva, transcripción de llamadas por parte del entorno, vecinos y familiares a Bienestar Social y tutela de menores. Documentación de renuncia y testimonios diversos por diferentes familias. Más valoraciones, firmas, teléfonos y un último documento en el que se demostraba que no se pudo hacer la ultima renuncia de paternidad a pesar de dos oportunidades; una por estado de embriaguez y otra por ausencia. Leer entre las páginas que era un niño en situación de abandono, total soledad o sin alegría vital me lleva a realizar una regresión a momentos que recuerdo y a otros por mi construidos. Desde aquel día el documento completo me acompaña en mi escritura y a la hora de crear muchas de mis obras. Estos documentos son para mí unas hojas de vida que desaparecieron y se ocultaron tras mi adopción, por lo que volver a mis orígenes, comprenderlos e interiorizarlos han hecho que sea quien soy ahora.”
File 08972 is an artistical and performance work, of critical and biographical content. The piece has a procesual basis, created involuntartily during the first years of the artist's chilhood and grouth. In a documental installation his own Social Welfare file. Throughout a hundred and twenty eight pages we find specific situations that led to Azcona´s despair and abandonment when he was a minor. In the documents the child's situation of complete abandonment, with visible signs of abuse, of neglect and malnourishment, and neighbour's and acquaintance's testimonies that confirmed that the minor sometimes was left alonefor weeks in the apartment , which did not fulfill the minimum habitabiliy conditions. In his artistic construction, usually biographical, Azcona shows us once again openness and transparency when artistically exhibiting the full file the work consists of File 09872 has been one of the names used to define Azcona himself when, precariously, publicinstitutions had to localize or manage a way of protection towards the child. Through these pages we are able to find out the motivations that led to Azcona's abandonment or the rreasions for the repeated custody withdrawals. In this piece, azcona fully exposes himself, allowing the viewer to know and to intimate with each one of his childhoo and life experiences that have shaped him as an artist and as a person.
The work can be divided into two clearly diferentiated phases: the first one is the documental part where Azcona exposes his file in an exhibition in cities such as Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Castellón or his own adoptive city, Pamplona, where the project was shown in the inside of the Monumento a los Caídos in a retrospective exhibition dedicated by the city of Pamplona in 2015. The exhibition of the files in Pamplona generated controversy, as they were documents of he government of Navarre and Social Wellfare and included specific names and information.
Azcona has always insisted in exhibiting the file in it's entirety and without censoring it beacuse of his necessity to understand his life experience shaped by abandonment, abuse and neglect without whitening or sugar coating. The second stage is the performative reading. The documental installation is joined by a reading of every page by Azcona himself. The piece was responsible for the opening of the Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo del Mediterráneo.

Expediente 09872 es una obra artística y de performance, de contenido crítico y biográfico de Abel Azcona. La pieza tiene una base procesual, al ser creada de manera involuntaria durante los primeros años de infancia y crecimiento del artista. En ella muestra de manera instalativa y documental su propio expediente de Bienestar Social. A lo largo de ciento veintiocho páginas encontramos situaciones concretas que llevaron al desamparo y abandono de Azcona siendo menor. En los documentos se narra el estado de un niño en situación de total de abandono, con visibles signos de abuso, de descuido y de desnutrición, y se aportan testimonios de vecinos y el entorno confirmando que el menor se llegaba a encontrar semanas en total soledad en el apartamento, que no cumplía las condiciones mínimas de habitabilidad. En su construcción artística, habitualmente biográfica, Azcona nos muestra una vez más apertura y transparencia al exponer de forma artística toda la documentación que conforma esta obra. Expediente 09872 ha sido uno de los nombres utilizados para definir al propio Azcona cuando, en situación precaria, las instituciones publicas debían localizar o gestionar una forma de protección hacia el infante. A través de estas páginas podemos averiguar las motivaciones hacia el abandono de Azcona o los motivos para las repetidas retiradas de custodia. Con esta pieza, Azcona se expone plenamente, posibilitando al espectador conocer e intimar con cada una de las experiencias infantiles y vitales que le han formado como artista y como persona.
La obra puede dividirse en dos etapas claramente diferenciadas; la primera de ellas es la parte documental donde Azcona expone el expediente de forma expositiva en ciudades como Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Castellón o su propia ciudad adoptiva, Pamplona, donde el proyecto fue expuesto en su totalidad en el interior del Monumento a los Caídos en la muestra retrospectiva dedicada por el ayuntamiento de Pamplona con la totalidad de obra del artista en el año 2015.La exposición del documento en Pamplona generó controversia al ser documentos pertenecientes al propio gobierno de Navarra y a bienestar social ya que, en la exposición de los mismos, se incluían datos y nombres concretos. Azcona siempre ha insistido en exponer el documento en su totalidad y sin censura por la necesidad de entender su experiencia vital marcada por el abandono, el abuso o el maltrato infantil sin necesidad de procesos blanqueantes o edulcorantes. La segunda etapa, es la lectura performativa. La instalación documental es acompañada con una lectura de cada una de las páginas del expediente por parte del propio Azcona. La pieza fue la responsable de inaugurar la Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo del Mediterráneo.

Also named Abel Luján Gutiérrez, Abel David Lebrijo González, Abel David Azcona Marcos, David Azcona Marcos or Abel David Azcona Ema. Azcona's biological mother decided on Abel's name and when registering him at the Montesa Clinic as her own, he was first called Abel Luján Gutiérrez, her last name. The child was not registered in the Civil Registry until he was four years of age and, upon the abandonment of the mother, her partner took care of the child and registered him as Abel David Lebrijo González, his surname despite him not being his biological father.

La familia adoptiva rehúsa usar el nombre de Abel desde la adopción porque supone un vínculo excesivo a la madre biológica, que eligió el nombre. A los quince años de edad, Azcona es adoptado por el nuevo marido de su madre adoptiva, por lo que se convierte en Abel David Marcos Azcona y, después de un tramite de inversión de apellidos aprobado por la familia, Azcona vuelve al primer nombre y definitivamente es Abel David Azcona Marcos. A la edad de veinte años decide eliminar legalmente el nombre de David, al no tener ninguna relación con su familia adoptiva y utilizar nueva y únicamente Abel como homenaje a su madre biológica y como respuesta a la prohibición e imposición del otro nombre.

David Lebrijo González, nacido en Madrid, el 1 de abril de1988, hijo de Manuel Lebrijo González y de Victoria Luján Gutierrez, con domicilio en Pamplona C/ Descalzos nº25-1ºDcha. Escolarizado en el Colegio de las M.M. Ursulinas de Pamplona.
En la actualidad el niño convive con su padre y la compañera de éste en una habitación con derecho a cocina alquilada. (30.000 pts/mes de renta). La vida familiar, según hemos recogido de los testimonios de la madre de Manuel Lebrijo y abúsela de David, y de un hermano de Manuel, así como de vecinos y conocidos, es muy desestructurada.
Pero las situaciones más graves que se producen respecto al menor David son los siguientes:
a) Abandonan al niño solo en casa, bien sea por la tardes o por las noches.
b) Frecuentan estancia en establecimientos de bebidas con el niño.
c) Se le dan normas y pautas de comportamiento contradictorias y conflictivas ( son varios los testimonios de que el niño carece de Alegrías vital y se le ve acobardado delante de sus padres…
El niño se encuentra actualmente viviendo en el domicilio de su abuela, María Gonzalez Periañez, de 58 años de edad. En dicho domicilio reside, a efectos formales, el padre del menor, Manuel Lebrijo González, siendo poco habitual su estancia en el mismo. Por otro lado, en la misma vivienda conviven los ya mencionados otros hijos y nietos de María González, siendo difícil poder determinar en cada momento el nº de personas que habitan en la vivienda. En su mayor parte, los hijos de María González se encuentran con problemas vinculados al consumo de estupefacientes.

Antecedentes familiares. Los padres del menor, Manuel y Mª Victoria, estaban viviendo en Madrid cuando nació el niño, año 1988. Según información aportada por el padre, la madre les abandonó a los pocos meses de nacer el niño. En esas fechas, el padre, con el menor, se trasladó a Pamplona, al domicilio de la abuela paterna del menor. El niño se quedó con la abuela, y el padre se fue a una pensión. dado que la situación socio-familiar de la abuela paterna no era la más adecuada para el normal desarrollo del cuidado de David.

El niño fue inscrito en el Registro Civil en febrero de 1990 con los apellidos del padre. En enero de 1991 e inició un acogimiento administrativo con familia ajena. Se estableció un sistema de visitas consistente en que el padre vería al niño los sábados, de 12 de la mañana hasta las 8 de la tarde. Por estas fechas inició relación con Arantxa Rodríguez Raposo de 17 años y procedente de una familia muy problemática. El desarrollo de las visitas durante el periodo de acogida fue irregular. No siempre acudía el padre a recogerlo sino que lo hacía una tía paterna. Normalmente el niño pasaba la tarde del sábado en casa de la abuela paterna. Con el inicio de la relación con Arantxa ambos se centraron más en el niño y cumplieron las visitas. El 27 de abril de 1991 Manuel recogió a David cómo era habitual pero no lo devolvió a la hora convenida con la familia acogedora. A los días fueron localizados en un pueblo de Badajoz. A mediados de mayo, Manuel con su compañera y el niño se desplazaron a Madrid, donde permanecieron hasta noviembre de 1991. En esta fecha volvieron a Pamplona. Antecedentes familiares; Se adjunta informe sobre la situación de David en la Unidad de barrio del Casco Viejo de Pamplona. El menor se encuentra a cargo de su abuela paterna, María González Periañez. En este domicilio conviven además el marido de María, tres hijos de ésta y dos nietos. Es un núcleo familiar multiproblemático en el que no ha sido posible intervenir desde los Servicios Sociales de base.
Con fecha 29-06-90 Isabel Azcona solicitó información al equipo de Adopciones y Acogimiento Familiar. Isabel conocía y apoyaba a esta familia haciéndose cargo del menor los fines de semana. En ese momento la a buena le había pedido que se hiciera cargo de David durante el verano. El padre vivía en una pensión ocupándose muy poco de su hijo. Se estudió a la familia de Isabel como acogedora del niño y se citó al padre para informarle. Ambas familias estuvieron de acuerdo pero el padre no acudió a nuestras oficinas para formalizar el acogimiento por lo que este no se realizó.Situación social de familia acogedora
Motivación: Isabel conoció a David a través de Cáritas en el año 1989. Desde entonces siguió la evolución del niño y su familia, se ocupó de él cuando estaba enfermo y poco se fue uniendo afectivamente de una forma más profunda.

Isabel animó a su familia a ofrecerse como acogedora de David en 1990. Después del cese siguió interesándose por el niño. Se ofreció ella misma como acogedora del niño cuando el padre decidió abandonarlo.
Relaciones: Está muy apoyada por toda la familia. Sus amigos conocen al niño y le aceptan, respetando la decisiones que toma Isabel. Integrada normalmente en su medio. Participa de las actividades de todo tipo de su parroquia.
Según manifestaciones de familiares de Manuel durante ese tiempo el menor no estaba bien atendido, sufriendo carencias tanto materiales como afectivas. Cuando vinieron a Pamplona se instalaron en un piso alquilado en la calle Descalzos, Según informaciones transmitidas por la Unidad de barrio del Casco Viejo, la pareja llevaba una vida muy desordenada. El menor pasaba mucho tiempo solo en casa, no recibía una adecuada atención pediátrica, etc… Además la vivienda no reunía condiciones higiénico-sanitarias adecuadas. Con fecha 30-03-1992 el menor ingresó en el Centro de Observación y Acogida a petición del padre. Manifestó que el niño tenía “malas intenciones” respecto a su compañera Arantza y dudaba de su paternidad. Dio su asentimiento a la adopción, por escrito. A partir del ingreso del menor en el centro Manuel se desentendió totalmente del niño. Valorada la situación del niño se considera que lo más adecuado era su incorporación a la familia Azcona-Ema que seguía ofreciéndose como acogedora motivada por los vínculos afectivos creados en su relación anterior. David se incorporó a la familia de Isabel Azcona Ema con fecha 15 de abril de 1992 en acogimiento administrativo preadoptivo. Manuel Lebrijo se casó con Arantxa Rodriguez Raposo con fecha 11de Abril de 1992. Al poco tiempo nació su hija. Desde entonces no se ha tenido noticias de ellos.
